The following websites will help you navigate information regarding financial aid and scholarships. As you begin your search, please remember that there is an abundance of scholarship information available on the internet – free of charge. Therefore, do not provide any personal or financial information to a 3rd party.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

  • www.studentaid.ed.gov - This government-sponsored website provides detailed information for preparing, choosing, and funding your college education.
  • www.gsfc.org - The Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) is the agency responsible for administering student financial aid programs provided by the State of Georgia, including the HOPE Scholarship and HOPE Grant. They also provide free financial aid consultation.
  • www.gcic.peachnet.edu/GCISWeb/LoginMain.aspx - The Georgia Career Information System not only provides information about careers and training programs, but it includes a detailed list of scholarships, grants, and prizes. Students can peruse a list of scholarships, or they may search according to set criteria. This site is password protected. Please see your counselor for the user ID and password.
  • www.Fastweb.com - The largest free internet scholarship search.
  • http://finaid.org - From this one site, students can search nine different databases for scholarship information. We recommend you search a minimum of two to three databases.
  • www.guaranteed-scholarships.com - This site lists and describes scholarships offered by individual colleges and universities to all enrolled students meeting the specific criteria.
  • www.college-scholarships.com - This college and scholarship information site includes links to nine free internet scholarship search data bases, links to college websites and online applications, college admissions office email addresses and (mostly toll free) phone numbers, ACT and SAT prep information, and much, much more.
  • www.get-recruited.com - This site offers students a chance to be recruited by – and perhaps be offered scholarships to attend – colleges, universities and graduate schools throughout the United States. This service is free of charge.
  • www.collegeboard.com - The College Board provides financial aid information for students, parents, and educators.
  • www.salliemae.org - Students may register to receive newsletters and valuable information regarding student loans and financial aid.
  • www.usg.edu - The University System of Georgia.
  • www.usg.edu/ga-easy - Applications and electronic advisory system for USG.
  • www.georgiamentor.org - Information on Georgia's independent colleges and universities.
  • www.hbcu-central.com - Access to the home pages of historically Black colleges in the U.S.
  • www.content.sciencewise.com - Minority On-line Information System -- look for keyword MOLIS.
  • www.dtae.org - Department of Technical and Adult Education.
  • www.co-op.edu - Cooperative education:  combine classroom experience with a paying job.
