It's student population grows by nearly 2,500 each year. Continuing a strong tradition of excellence in education, student achievement remains the primary focus. This is evident in the "report cards" that annually evaluate the performance of Georgia's schools and school districts. Cobb schools have earned 13 National Schools of Excellence and 30 Georgia Schools of Excellence awards.
South Cobb High School is a comprehensive public high school with a total enrollment of 1855 students, 383 of which are seniors. We operate with a 4x4 block schedule, which means that students attend four 90-minute classes each day. Students earn a full unit of credit for each course passed, and they can earn up to eight units of credit each year.

Due to the level of difficulty, some courses receive extra weight in calculating a student's grade point average (GPA). Additional quality points are calculated into the overall GPA and are not reflected in the numeric averages.
