Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED® Preparation

ABE/GED® students receive instruction in reading, math, and language.

Students are assigned to classes based upon TABE (Tests of Adult Basic Education) test scores.

Classes are offered on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. If you select a morning schedule, classes meet from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. If you select an evening schedule, classes meet from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  All 16 and 17 year old students attend classes Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

Classes are provided at no cost to the student, but regular attendance and progress are monitored to assure that students are meeting the requirements necessary to achieve their goals.  At the end of each quarter, students with the required classroom hours are post-tested.

Upon completion of registration, a student is assigned his/her test dates. This test is offered both mornings and evenings. Students must attend both days, Monday and Tuesday, in the same week. Testing is scheduled, mornings from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM or evenings from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

Upon completion of the test on Tuesday, the student receives his/her test results and participates in an Orientation program. Students enter classes as space permits.
