ALLATOONA HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM
MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission as professional school counselors is to support all students and promote the development of productive citizens in society. Our goal is to implement a standards-based comprehensive school counseling program that will:

Promote an environment that encourages the development of life-long learning, personal responsibility, and productivity.

Enhance the academic and personal growth of all students.

Advocate for all students by encouraging them to develop to their fullest potential.

Provide access to career planning that matches each student’s aptitude and interests.

PHILOSOPHY & BELIEFS

Every student can learn through different models and at a different pace.

Every student can learn when barriers are removed.

Every student deserves an equal opportunity to educational resources.

All students will be treated with dignity and respect.

All students will have access to a qualified professional school counselor who will identify and address the needs of each student as necessary.

Counselors will use data to develop, implement, and evaluate the validity of the program and re-assess as necessary.

Counselors will adhere to ethical standards as set forth by the American School Counselor Association.
