Come out and join a new club at CHS – the Friends Club.  We will be planning activities to get to know our students with special needs at CHS. An interest meeting for Campbell’s first male beauty pageant will be held on Wednesday, October 4th in the drama room from 3:45-4:15. Support the Thanks for Giving Food Drive

CHS students, clubs, organizations, staff and everyone, from September 2017, (start date to be determined), to November 15, 2017. Bring in canned food items, boxed food items, other non-perishable food items, and place these items in one of four barrels that will be placed around the school (2 in the cafeteria, 1 in the Wills gym and 1 in the 2000 bldg).  Have your class, club, organization, etc., donate the most items, and win a pizza party or donut party! Count your items from start to finish!! Send your total to Jacqueline.moore@cobbk12.org.  Dried beans, cranberry juice, rice, pasta, cereal, canned fruit/vegetables are a few of the item that can be donated. Thank you.

Medical Club is hosting a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross on Oct. 9th from 3-7pm in the Nash Gym.  Donors must be at least 16 yrs. Old, with a parental consent form submitted to Mrs. Tam, in Rm. 1008, no later than Oct. 3rd at 3:30pm. Please help encourage all eligible people to donate and sign up for an appointment online before Oct. Help us reach our goal of at least 60 eligible donors registered online to give blood. The annual senior trip has been approved once again!  The trip will be April 12-14th to Daytona Beach, Aquatica, Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure, for the low price of just $295 which will include lodging, transportation and tickets to the park.  A down payment of $55 must be paid by October 16th to guarantee a seat.  There is an early bird special of just $265 if paid in full by Oct. 5th.  More information can be found at campbellseniortrip.weebly.com.  melissa.campbell@cobk12.org 

Accuplacer Test for students interested in the Dual Enrollment program at Chattahoochee Technical College will be on Wednesday, October 25. Two sessions offered. Sign up in the Counseling Office. Space is limited so don’t delay! Jana.loftin@cobbk12.org 

The PSAT is scheduled for October 11, 2017.  All 10th grade students are automatically pre-registered to take the test.  Any 9th or 11th grade student who would like to take the PSAT should bring $16 cash/check/money order to Ms. Adams in the IB Office (next to room 911). Jackson State University (JSU), Jackson, Mississippi is hosting its annual High School and Community College Day on Saturday, September 23, 2017 The JSUNAA Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter will be sponsoring a charter bus for Atlanta area High School SENIORS and JUNIORS (& some Sophomores and Freshmen) to the JSU campus for this event. The day will be filled with various activities that will allow students to take a tour of the campus, view departmental displays, and attend a JSU football game.  The fee for the trip is $115 for students and chaperones. This fee includes round-trip bus transportation to Jackson (MS), overnight hotel stay, Saturday lunch, Sunday breakfast, snacks, and a football ticket to the Jackson State University –VS- Grambling State University football game.  More information can be found in the counseling office.  Ranetta.Goss@cobbk12.org  

The Freshmen Academy will be taking their first field trip of the year to The King Center. You will have the opportunity to hear personal and humorous stories about the life of Dr. and Mrs. King and the experiences that shaped their development as young people and led them to become global leaders. Jackson State University (JSU), Jackson, Mississippi is hosting its annual High School and Community College Day on Saturday, September 23, 2017 The JSUNAA Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter will be sponsoring a charter bus for Atlanta area High School SENIORS and JUNIORS (& some Sophomores and Freshmen) to the JSU campus for this event. The day will be filled with various activities that will allow students to take a tour of the campus, view departmental displays, and attend a JSU football game.  The fee for the trip is $115 for students and chaperones. Jackson State University (JSU), Jackson, Mississippi is hosting its annual High School and Community College Day on Saturday, September 23, 2017 The JSUNAA Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter will be sponsoring a charter bus for Atlanta area High School SENIORS and JUNIORS (& some Sophomores and Freshmen) to the JSU campus for this event. The day will be filled with various activities that will allow students to take a tour of the campus, view departmental displays, and attend a JSU football game.  The fee for the trip is $115 for students and chaperones. That slip will be exchanged for your ticket on Friday, September 8. It must be signed by a parent.  

You will meet in Ms. Weaver's room after school on Friday, September 8. We will order pizza, you will eat at Campbell, and the bus will leave around 6:00 PM on the 8th. You are responsible for getting on the bus to go to the game and returning on the bus. We will put 2 staff members on the bus. Any behavioral problems will be addressed on site with administration that will be in attendance at the game. We expect your best behavior, and we will settle for nothing less. The Campbell High School Spartan cross country varsity men’ and women’ teams competed this past Labor Day weekend at the Jekyll Island Invitational. There were 24 teams from various parts of Georgia and Florida entered. Both varsity teams placed sixth in their respective races. Top finisher for the Spartan men was Daniel M with a PR time of 17:46. First across the line for the lady Spartans was Kirsten E with a time of 21:22.

 

New-comer Jack I was second for the men with a PR time of 18:13, just 27 seconds behind Daniel M. Kellen B, Jasper J, Brooks R, and Max S rounded out the Spartan men top 7. Paige T was the second for the Spartan ladies, followed by Makyla J, Savannah P, Makayla J, Emile G, and Allison A.

Jackson State University (JSU), Jackson, Mississippi is hosting its annual High School and Community College Day on Saturday, September 23, 2017 The JSUNAA Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter will be sponsoring a charter bus for Atlanta area High School SENIORS and JUNIORS (& some Sophomores and Freshmen) to the JSU campus for this event. The day will be filled with various activities that will allow students to take a tour of the campus, view departmental displays, and attend a JSU football game.  The fee for the trip is $115 for students and chaperones. This fee includes round-trip bus transportation to Jackson (MS), overnight hotel stay, Saturday lunch, Sunday breakfast, snacks, and a football ticket to the Jackson State University –VS- Grambling State University football game.  More information can be found in the counseling office.  Ranetta.Goss@cobbk12.org  

The Freshmen Academy will be taking their first field trip of the year to The King Center. You will have the opportunity to hear personal and humorous stories about the life of Dr. and Mrs. King and the experiences that shaped their development as young people and led them to become global leaders. Picture Day is Tuesday, September 5th, the day after Labor Day. This is for all underclass students, seniors who need an ID, and faculty/staff. It will be during 3rd block classes in the Wills and Nash gyms. Underclass students will receive a picture order form during homeroom. Seniors, you will only need a picture taken if you need an ID. Go!  Help support Campbell High School’s Thanksgiving Food Drive.  Student organizations are needed to promote the Thanksgiving Food Drive before and during the food drive. We need your help! Please join The Center for Family Resources and Communities In Schools of Marietta/Cobb in providing holiday grocery boxes to Cobb County Families.

The PSAT is scheduled for October 11, 2017.  All 10th grade students are automatically pre-registered to take the test.  Any 9th or 11th grade student who would like to take the PSAT should bring $16 cash/check/money order to Ms. Adams in the IB Office (next to room 911). The STEM Afterschool program will begin Tuesday, September 5th. All students must register. Registration packets may be picked up from the, STEM office, Guidance office, Front office, or downloaded from the Campbell High School website.
