World Language Survey

Attention Cheatham Hill Parents,

The Cobb County School District is excited to embark on the process of acquiring new World Languages content and resources and we would love parent input. Cheatham Hill Elementary is 1 of 2 elementary schools in the district who offer a World Language, so our participation in this process is invaluable.

Please click the following link to access the Parents Needs Assessment for World Language: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GXJ865X. This link will be available until Friday, February 12th.

We want to thank you, in advance, for your support in ensuring we have the best World Language content and resources available to our students and teachers as we move our district forward.

Debra earned her undergraduate degree in Special Education from Georgia College and State University.  Upon graduation she moved to Cobb County and began her career at East Paulding High School where she taught special education for 4 years.  After taking a couple of years to stay at home with kids, she returned to education as a Co-Teacher in the general education setting for 11 years at Ford Elementary.  In 2010, she earned her Master’s degree in Integrating Technology into the Classroom from NOVA Southeastern.  For the past two years, Debra has served Due West Elementary, Kemp Elementary and Lost Mountain Middle Schools as the Education Program Specialist.  She is excited to serve Cheatham Hill and Due West in the new position of Support and Services Administrator.

S
he and her husband, Charles, have been happily married for many years and have 1 daughter, Katelyn, and 2 sons, Brandon and Noah.  Debra enjoys spending time her free time at the lake and in the mountains with family and friends.

We're glad you're here with us at The Hill, Mrs. Hebert!

Jacki Skole is an author and has most recently published  the book Dogland. Ms. Skole is currently collecting dog stories, poems and reflections from children.  She hopes to publish them in a "coffee table" book and donate all the proceeds to the Homeless Pets Foundation.

Last year's 4th and 5th graders were able to write a piece about their dogs or desire for a dog in Mrs. Earnest's writing lab class.  Cheatham Hill had 18 entries selected for Ms. Skole's blog.
Check out our own Kate Maflin in this recent post!

Please note:

Effective September 7, 2010, students will not be permitted to return to classrooms after 2:45 pm to retrieve forgotten items such as homework, lunch boxes, book bags, etc. Teachers may leave the campus at 2:45 pm, therefore sending students to rooms without someone present is a concern for our staff and for the security of our students. Please be advised that ASP workers and custodians will no longer be able to unlock classrooms for parents or students. Until students become acclimated to this procedure, we will provide daily reminders on the afternoon announcements.
