About Clarkdale
Build in 1962, Clarkdale was originally located on a neighborhood street
in Austell, Georgia. The school sat on 10 acres and was bordered by
wetlands. On September 21, 2009 the school was destroyed because of
flooding. The school was filled with 10 feet of water and the building
was deemed unusable.
The 2012-13 school year was the first year of the newly constructed
Clarkdale. The school is located adjacent to Cooper Middle School.
The instructional program includes pre-kindergarten through fifth grades. The
instructional day begins at 7:50 AM and ends at 2:20PM. Both breakfast and
lunch program are available to students. An After-School program is offered
daily from 2:30-6:00 PM at a cost of $7.00 per day, with a one-time $10 .00
registration fee.
Extra curricular activities include band (4th and 5th grade
students) chorus (4th and 5th grade students), After-School Tutoring
for 3rd and 5th grade qualifying students and F.A.M.E. (Family
Achievement Makes Excellence) for ESOL parents. We have also
performed a school play during the 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09 and
2012-13 school
years.
