in 1962, Clarkdale was originally located on a neighborhood street in
Austell, Georgia. The school sat on 10 acres and was bordered by wetlands.
On September 21, 2009 the school was destroyed because of flooding. The
school was filled with 10 feet of water and the building was deemed
The 2012-13 school year was the first year of the newly constructed Clarkdale. The school is located adjacent to Cooper Middle School. Although
the flood was tragic, we now have a beautiful building in which we can serve our students.
The instructional program includes
pre-kindergarten through fifth grades. The instructional day begins at 7:50
AM and ends at 2:16PM. Both breakfast and lunch program are available to
students. An After-School program is offered daily from 2:30-6:00 PM at a
cost of $7.00 per day, with a one-time $10 .00 registration fee.
Last year our talented students performed the musical
Cinderella and we are looking forward to another wonderful school
musical again in the spring!
Extra curricular activities include band (4th and 5th grade students) chorus (4th and 5th grade students), After-School Tutoring
for 3rd and 5th grade qualifying students and F.A.M.E. (Family Achievement Makes Excellence) for ESOL parents.
Recently we have begun a S.T.E.M. club, an art club, and
a Mad About Science Club. Students who are on the Clarkdale Reading Bowl
compete yearly at the Cobb County Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl competition.
Clarkdale has partnered with Cooper Middle School and is able to offer Math
Extension to qualifying fifth grade students.
