Dr. Liss Maynard, Principal
Tangela Hendrix, Assistant Principal

Welcome Back, Clarkdale Cardinals!

Get ready for a great year!

Welcome to our new principal:
Dr. Liss Maynard

Dear Clarkdale Elementary School Family,

It is with sincere pleasure and great honor that I join the Clarkdale Elementary School community. As I begin my role as your new principal, I am looking forward to an extraordinary year full of excitement, engagement and excellence. It will be an opportunity for me to learn more about the Clarkdale community, and for you to learn more about me as your leader.

I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. I earned my M.Ed. from the University of Southern Mississippi, an Ed.S from the University of West Georgia and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi. I have twenty-one years of educational experience with Cobb County. I began my teaching career in 1993 as a high school math teacher at Central Alternative School. In 1998, I wa became an administrator at Lindley Middle School. I have been an assistant principal at Harmony Leland Elementary, Russell Elementary and Mableton Elementary.

Clarkdale will continue to build unity in the community as well as stay focused with our vision and mission. As always, we will remain dedicated to optimizing teaching and learning. One of my priorities this year is to learn and listen with great care in an effort to (1) establish positive and productive relationships with all members of the Clarkdale community; (2) build a strong foundation for continuous school improvement; (3) collaboratively develop and implement a school strategic plan for continuous school improvement.

I look forward to working as a team with each of you for an extraordinary year!

Sincerely,
Dr. Liss A. Maynard
