Scholastic Summer Reading Image

The Cobb County School District’s Library Media Education Department, in conjunction with Cobb County Public Libraries, Smyrna Public Library, and Marietta City Schools, has partnered with Scholastic to participate in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge again this summer.

Reading throughout the summer helps students maintain learning gains made in school, and can help them start the new school year off right. In the summer of 2015, CCSD students logged over 6 MILLION minutes of reading, and represented 9 of the top 10 schools for number of minutes read in the entire state of Georgia!

We encourage all students to keep those reading and learning skills sharp by reading great books all summer long.

Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge: Visit www.scholastic.com/summer to log minutes, unlock stories from favorite authors, earn digital rewards, and learn about new books to read. The contest opens May 9th.

CCSD Library Media Education: Visit www.cobbsummerreading.com for access to reading resources, free e-books, book suggestions, and links to learning resources, such as the Cobb Digital Library.

Cobb County and Smyrna Public Libraries: Visit your local public library to check out books and attend fun, free events all summer long. Don’t miss the Summer Reading Kickoff.
