
Sprayberry High School Registration
Course Requests for students attending
Sprayberry High School next year went home on Friday, March
10th. These course requests are also available in ParentVue
under Course Requests. You only need
to return the course requests if you are completing the waiver
on the back to change an academic placement. You can find
the Freshman Registration Handbook on the Sprayberry website
under Registration Info. These forms are due back to the
counselors by March 17th if any changes need to be made.
Sprayberry looks forward to seeing you
on Thursday, March 16th at 6:00 p.m. for Rising 9th Grade Parent
Night.
Calling all Daniell Dolphins: Pitch in for
Paper!
Bring in a ream or more of copy paper,
white or colored, anytime by March 17.
Students will be
entered into a prize drawing!
When you bring in paper or a monetary
donation for paper, you are helping our school free up money to
spend on other things for students, staff, and the school.
The Daniell School Council thanks each
and every one of you for pitching in for paper!
A Taste of Daniell
The PTSA is pleased to invite our
wonderful students and parents to our inaugural “Taste of Daniell”
event taking place 6:30-8:30pm on Thursday, March
30th.
“Taste of Daniell”
is an event to bring together and celebrate the cultural
diversity we have here at Daniell Middle
School through fabulous entertainment, delicious food and a
silent auction.
But we need your help! We would
love for you to share special family recipes with our Daniell family.
If you have a dish that you would like to bring to share at the
event, please email Katherine Johnson at kajohnson0819@gmail.com and
include your name, your student’s name and grade, country of
origin, and the type of dish. All kinds of cuisine are welcome!

SLOST V Presentation
Cobb County School District will have a
SPLOST V Presentation this Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 7:00
p.m. in the Daniell Middle School gymnasium, just prior to the
LGPE Band Preview Concert. All are welcome!!
CCSD School Transfer Applications Available Online
The Cobb County School District is again
offering School Choice (HB 251 and SB10) tranfers for the
2017-2018 school year. Beginning on Wednesday, February 1, 2017,
parents/guardians can apply for the transfers. The district will
only accept online applications. IN order to provide access to
the application for parents/guardians who may need it, a kiosk
is available in the lobby of the CCSD Central Offices at 514
Glover Street.

Sprayberry High School Invites Daniell Families to Meet
New Football Coach
Sprayberry High School is excited to
announce that Brett Vavra has officially been named as
Sprayberry Head Football Coach! They will have a "Meet and
Greet" for all parents, players, and Jr. Jackets on February
7th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Cafeteria of Sprayberry High
School.

GA FBLA Regional Leadership Conference
Daniell FBLA members recetnly participated
in the GA FBLA Regional Leadership Conference. Members competed
in various online skilss testing events.

In addition to competing in these events,
two of Daniell's FBLA officers, Angelina and Amaury, and FBLA
Advisor John Kendall represented Daniell at the Fall Leadership
Conference3 in Novemeber. The conference was held at the Classic
Center in Athens, GA. Angelina and Amaury were able to be a
partof exciting leadership training workshops with dynamic
keynote speaker, Bill Cordes.

PSA Contest for Atlanta Area Schools
The Greatest Save
Teen PSA Project - Peer to Peer Prevention
Are you always creating and posting videos?
Are you tired of hearing about adult issues and want to give
teens a voice? Well consider participating in the Greatest Save
Teen Public Service Announcement (PSA) Project. Students are
encouraged to create a 30-second video message covering topics
such as internet safety, date rape, human trafficking, abduction
and other personal safety issues to prevent teens from becoming
victims. The PSAs will be used in school and communities to
raise awareness about personal safety and prevent teen
victimization. The winning school will be recognized at a
pre-game ceremony with the Atlanta Braves. The submission
deadline is March 1, 2017. If you are interested in

Discerning Dolphin
Let's give a round of
applause to 8th Grader Jahnvi Bhagat. Jahnvi
represented Daniell Middle School in the Cobb
County Spelling Bee this past Saturday, January
28th. Jahnvi placed 3rd and will now represent
the school in the District Spelling Bee.
Congratulations Jahnvi.
6 and 7 Grade Neon Glow In the Dark Blue Jean Ball
Daniell PTSA will be hosting its First Annual
6/7 Grade Neon Glow in the Dark Blue Jean
Ball.This dance will be for our 6 and 7 graders
and will be this upcoming Friday, January 27th
from 4:15 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be $5.00
and will include a slice of pizza and water.
Students can purchase tickets Wednesday thru
Friday during lunch. The dance will have a live
DJ, dance contests, mannequin challenge, Glow in
the Dark necklaces and bracelots, and TONS of

Congratulations to Our 2017 Spelling Bee Winner!
On January 18th, approximately 30 students
participated in Daniell's annual Spelling Bee.
After about an hour of intense spelling, it came
down to three students: Jahnvi Bhagat, Abrar
Chowdury, and Nicholas Bornstein. For the third
year in a row, Jahnvi Bhagat
has earned the title of Daniell Spelling Bee
Champion!
Jahnvi will represent us at the Cobb County
Spelling Bee on January 28th.

Congratulations to Our 2017 Geography Bee Winner!
Congratulations go out to Nick Mondragon,
our two-time Daniell Geography Bee champion!
Nick prevailed over the best social studies
students in our school on Wednesday, January
18th, defeating sixth grader Lucas Akers in the
final round by correctly identifying Honduras as
the site of the La Mosquitia region.
Nick will have a chance to compete in the
Georgia Sate Geography Bee on March 31st.
