How to Apply - Administrative Application for First Time Users
(Step by step
Instructions)
READ EACH STEP CAREFULLY
NOTE: If at any time during the application process you receive a pop up box that states you are about to obtain information over a secure connection, click YES.
From the Cobb County School District Human Resources Page:
Click on “STAR” on the right hand side of the Human Resources page.
Click on “Administrative”.
Read “Information Required to complete an online application” page.
Press “Click here to begin “On-Line Application”.
The “STAR”, blue screen will appear.
Choose the “Click here to register and apply”.
From the Applicant Information Screen, complete every field with a RED arrow. Enter your email address on this screen where indicated.
Please write down your User ID and Password you created.
Go to the bottom of the page and click “submit”.
The next screen is “Login”.
Enter your USER ID and PASSWORD that you just created; click “login”.
The next screen is to select the “type of position you are applying for”; choose the Administrative Application and click “start application”.
The application process will begin. Read “instructions” carefully and click “continue”.
The next screen is Contact Information; review this information and click “continue”.
The next screen is Contact Information-Present Address; Before typing, click on each field/white box to enter information; Enter every field with a RED arrow-these are required fields.
The next screen is Contact Information, Other. This is a screen providing information as alternative information if we cannot reach the above from #15. It is not required, but preferred that you complete it.
Employment Preferences. Please read this screen carefully. This is a preference for school/department locations. On the next screen, you will identify specific jobs by posting number. You may click on the link to the map (top right) of Cobb County School locations. To return to the previous screen, click “Employment Preferences” on the left side of screen. Press Continue upon completion.
This screen continues with Employment Preferences. Please read the directions carefully. Choose the “add position” button at the bottom of the page, you will go to another screen.
This page is where you will select jobs by posting number. To select a job, click on the drop down arrow. Current jobs are listed by posting number. Click “continue” action at the bottom of the page to go to the next screen.
This page will reflect the position that you have added under the “Administrative positions you are adding”.
To add additional positions, click “add position” button and follow instructions above from #18-20 or if you are finished, click “continue” button.
On the Skills page, complete the areas if applicable and click “continue” button.
The next page is “Professional Information”, complete the areas w/ red arrows and click “continue” button. If you answer YES to any of the “Have You Ever” questions, you must provide a detailed answer.
On the Personal Information page, if you answer “yes” to question #2, you must click on “add entry” button. The next screen will be the Criminal History Affidavit and you must complete all areas with a red arrow and select the “continue” button. If you answer “no” to question #2, you click the “continue” button at the bottom of the page. Click continue again to move to the next page.
Next, is your Educational information. Complete ALL red arrow fields. Click the “add entry” button. Complete ALL red arrow fields/white boxes. Read all information carefully for foreign colleges and those not listed on drop down. After you have entered your college information, click “continue” to move to the next screen.
The next page is Certification/Licensure. Complete all red arrow fields. Click on add entry to enter certification, click on complete at the bottom of the page. Enter any comments if necessary. Click on continue button at the bottom of the page.
The next page is for Georgia Certified Educators. Complete all red arrow fields and white boxes if indicated.
The next page is Work Experience – Teaching and Military. List work experience chronologically, beginning with the most recent employer and list ALL part-time and full-time work experience. To add experience/employer, click “add entry” button. Complete ALL areas, red arrows are required.
Continue to Click “add entry” button and follow the above directions from #28 until all previous employers are entered. Complete area for Total Years Experience and Military Experience. Click “continue” button at bottom of page when finished.
The next page is for student teaching experience. Complete this page if student teaching has been completed in the last three years. Click on add entry button to enter information on the Student Teaching/Clinical Experience – Add/Edit Entry until completed. Complete all areas with red arrows.
The next page is Work Experience – General. List all part-time and full-time work experience other than general experience. Click on add entry button to enter information on the non-Teaching Experience – Add/Edit Entry page. All areas with red arrows must be completed. Continue to click on the add entry button until all general experience is added. Click on the continue button when completed.
The next page is professional references. Click on the add entry button. Complete ALL sections with red arrows and then click on continue and complete another reference (a minimum of 3 references are required). You must include your current and previous principal, supervisor or college supervisor. When 3 references have been entered, click on the continue button.
Applicant data survey is the next page. Providing this information is voluntary. Please complete all fields and click on continue. If you choose not to complete this section, click on continue.
Additional Information Screen. Complete and add information as necessary.
The next screen is the Applicant’s Authorization Statement. Please read the statement carefully and complete the area with the red arrow. Click on continue.
The next screen will give you instructions on forwarding supporting documentation.
The next screen is Save Application. Click “review application”. DO NOT CLICK ON EXIT APPLICATION.
Review Forms screen. If you would like to review your application, click on the appropriate link (Administrative Application or Data Survey or Applicant Testimony). Applications and forms can be printed after you click on these buttons. Click on Print on the left. DO NOT CLICK ON EXIT APPLICATION. After reviewing, click gray “Back to Review List” button on left. Next, click “submit application” button and finally click “submit application” button again. You will now see a screen which states the computer is “submitting the application…please wait”. Lastly, you will see a message which states “your application has been successfully submitted”. This means that Human Resources has received your application and you have successfully applied. If you do not see this message – your application has not been properly submitted.
