School Focused Professional Development

 

Each school in the Cobb County School District offers one or more school-focused professional development programs aligned with its school improvement plan and are designed to increase teacher effectiveness and improve student learning. 

The professional development interventions must be:

  • data driven

  • results oriented
  • research-based

Getting Started:

To plan, implement and monitor a school-focused professional development program, please access the School-Focused Professional Development CHECKLIST.  The instructions included in the checklist will guide you through all steps of the process.  All forms referenced in the checklist are included here.
 

Registering For School-Focused Professional Development:

Local school staff members must register online in the new Professional Learning System (PLS) at https://cfo.cobbk12.org/Secure.

PLU Credits:

Professional Learning Units (PLUs) earned through participation and completion of school-focused professional development programs will be awarded and posted in the district’s new Professional Learning System (PLS).  The instructor or local school coordinator will post PLUs to participants when the course is completed.  Local school staff members can view their credits by clicking on:
Staff > My Previous Courses.
