Leadership development opportunities are designed to support and enhance the success of Cobb County School District's new principals during the first two to three years of service. Experienced principals were
trained as mentor-coaches for new principals. These principals successfully
completed "Coaching Essentials for Leaders".
Each new principal communicates and meets on a regular basis with a mentor-coach. New principals and mentor-coaches meet throughout the year for professional learning that is facilitated by the Leadership Development Director. Monthly collaborative sessions and local school-focused walks are scheduled throughout the year to enhance knowledge and skills in the following leadership areas:
