Monica Bright's mother is from Colombia, South America. Monica considers it a privilege to have been able to spend most of her childhood summers with her grandparents in Colombia along with her older and younger brothers. Her oldest brother is married with two sons. Monica values her close family ties, and they get together for Sunday dinner at her mother's house every week.
Special Interests/Training: Forensic specialist/interviewing, Child sexual abuse assessments, Fluent in Spanish, Conducts trainings on treatment modalities for youth and teens, sexual harassment and stress management.
Social Work Philosophy: I believe it is important to empower people to help themselves. Sometimes they need a little support along the way, but families need to learn to manage their lives and know when to ask for help. I believe it is about a hand up, not a hand down.
