Dear Fair Oaks Families and Students;

Welcome Back!

I hope that you had time to relax and spend time with family and friends over our summer break.  I also hope you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new school year. I am very excited about the instructional changes we are making this year to better prepare your child for each grade level and beyond.  I welcome and value your positive energy, support, and dedication to our Eagle Nation. I look forward to working another year alongside you and your children.

There is no doubt that there is incredible energy coming from the entire Fair Oaks staff. For the past few weeks, our teachers have been planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our fantastic office team, lead by Rachel Louie, is registering new families, ordering needed materials, and updating student files. Our hard-working custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly preparing our school for another incredible year. You will see the difference as soon as you enter the building. Dennis Dillard and his custodial team are hands down the best custodial team in all of Cobb County.  And, for the second year in a row, our family-led PTA is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs.  THE Fair Oaks community is indeed a happy and caring community with the common goals of fostering responsible, considerate students and promoting high-level learning.

New Staff

Each year brings positive change. This includes a few additions to our staff. We are delighted to welcome fifteen new teachers to our team. They are the best of the best, and they cannot wait to meet our Fair Oaks families and students.

Security Update

We have a mandatory check-in system each time you come into the school to visit, have lunch with your child, or to sign your child out. When you do enter our building for any reason, please come to the office to check-in.

Student Placement

A great deal of time, effort, and thought have gone into the process of student placement for the 2019-2020 school year.  Classrooms have been balanced academically and socially.  Class lists are structured to provide equitable class sizes at each grade level. Moving students is challenging without causing imbalances and inequities.

Thank you so much for being positive with your child and helping him or her understand that it is impossible to place all students with a preferred best friend or teacher.  Our staff works hard to make school a positive experience for each student. THE Fair Oaks is excitedly looking forward to inspiring your child’s life. Thank you for understanding that it can take a few weeks for a child to acclimate to a new grade, peer group, and teacher.

Fresh Market & The Eagles Closet

We will continue to operate the Fresh Market and Eagle’s Closet on a bi-weekly Saturday schedule. Information and dates of operation will be handed out during our Sneak-A-Peek and during the first week of school. We are very excited to offer these resources to our wonderful Fair Oaks community

Fair Oaks Family University

I am happy to announce that we will start our own Fair Oaks Family University (FOFU) in September.  This program is geared toward our adult family members and will meet monthly. The goal of this university is to help provide our adult family members with information on how to assist your child at home in their school work to financial well-being to insight on renting or buying a home…etc. More information will be coming out later in August.

Thank You

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has helped to prepare THE Fair Oaks for this upcoming school year. The dedication that each of you displayed in insuring that THE Fair Oaks remains a distinguished and decisive school is awe-inspiring. I enthusiastically look forward to greeting our students and families as principal at the BEST school in Cobb County and beyond.  I am truly humbled to be serving my second year as your principal. Please stop by and say hello. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all.

Warmest Regards,
