CCSD School Transfer Applications

The Cobb County School District is again offering School Choice (HB 251 and SB10) transfers for the 2017-2018 school year. Beginning on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, parents/guardians can apply for the transfers. The district will only accept online applications. For additional information, please see the Newsletter.

Microsoft Office 365 for Students

The Cobb County School District is offering a free copy of Office 365 for students. Parents should have received this offer via email. Before students can download their copy, parents must choose one of the three Parental Consent options from the original email and use the student information provided in the follow-up email. Kindergarten Screening for Gifted Services

At Garrison Mill, all kindergarteners will automatically be screened in the spring for potential need of gifted services. The parents of only students requiring further evaluation will be contacted. For further information about the screening process please read: Kindergarten Screening


Iowa Assessment Information

Students are assessed in the fall on the Iowa Assessments. This is a norm-referenced assessment that measures student achievement in comparison to other students nationwide. Students in grades 3, 5, and 7 are tested in Reading, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Read More...


Blackboard Connect Parent Portal

The Blackboard Connect Parent Portal is an online system designed to allow you to customize how you receive notifications from your child's school as well as from the district. Notifications can now be received by phone, text message, or email.

ParentVue helps parents stay informed and connected by allowing parents to access near real-time information on assignments and scores, attendance, and demographic information. ParentVUE offers parents a single sign-on to view all of their children’s information regardless of school.

General Information

Dismissal Time:  2:20 PM

Late Arrivals and
Early Dismissals

For the safety of all students, if your child arrives after 7:50 AM, you must sign your child in at the PTA desk in the lobby. There are no transportation changes or dismissals permitted after 1:40 PM.


Inclement Weather

We encourage our staff and parents to listen to News/Talk 750 WSB (750 on the AM radio dial) when winter weather threatens. In addition, the News/Talk 750 WSB website provides a complete and frequently updated list of school closings online at: www.wsbradio.com.

In the event of an early dismissal due to inclement weather, the After School Program (ASP) will also be closed.


Bus Pass

Students are permitted to ride a different bus or get off at a different stop, if there is a childcare need. The Bus Pass form must be completed in advance and returned to the front office for authorization. Students may not ride a different bus for playdates, parties, sleepovers, etc.
