It is now time to nominate parents in our community to be on our School Council. Please complete the nomination form and return in hard copy to the Garrison Mill front office by May 26.

Kindergarten Screening for Gifted Services

At Garrison Mill, all kindergarten students will automatically be screened in the spring for potential need of gifted services. The parents of students requiring further evaluation will be contacted. For further information about the screening process please read: Kindergarten Screening


Breaking News (December 9, 2016)

Garrison Mill’s College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) score for the 2015-2016 School Year is 95.3!  This is the highest score of any elementary school in Cobb County!  For more information about CCRPI, please visit the Georgia Department of Education’s CCRPI Website.  For more details about the Cobb County School District results, please see this Press Release.  For a complete list of CCRPI scores for all schools in Cobb and Marietta click here.


Microsoft Office 365 for Students

The Cobb County School District is offering a free copy of Office 365 for students. Parents should have received this offer via email. Before students can download their copy, parents must choose one of the three Parental Consent options from the original email and use the student information provided in the follow-up email. Iowa Assessment Information

Students are assessed in the fall on the Iowa Assessments. This is a norm-referenced assessment that measures student achievement in comparison to other students nationwide. Students in grades 3, 5, and 7 are tested in Reading, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Read More...

The Blackboard Connect Parent Portal is an online system designed to allow you to customize how you receive notifications from your child's school as well as from the district. Notifications can now be received by phone, text message, or email.

General Information

Start Time:  7:50 AM
Dismissal Time:  2:20 PM

Late Arrivals and
Early Dismissals

For the safety of all students, if your child arrives after 7:50 AM, you must sign your child in at the PTA desk in the lobby. There are no transportation changes or dismissals permitted after 1:40 PM.


Inclement Weather

We encourage our staff and parents to listen to News/Talk 750 WSB (750 on the AM radio dial) when winter weather threatens. In addition, the News/Talk 750 WSB website provides a complete and frequently updated list of school closings online at: www.wsbradio.com.

In the event of an early dismissal due to inclement weather, the After School Program (ASP) will also be closed.


Bus Pass

Students are permitted to ride a different bus or get off at a different stop, if there is a childcare need. The Bus Pass form must be completed in advance and returned to the front office for authorization. Students may not ride a different bus for playdates, parties, sleepovers, etc.
