Math Summer Work and Skills Packets
Doing some math weekly over the summer is a great way to maintain your skills and to experience learning independently. Perhaps one of the best things to do is to begin to prepare for the SAT and ACT math tests by purchasing and working a SAT prep book. Another useful purchase would be an Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, or Precalculus study guide from Barnes and Noble or amazon.com. Take a look at them at a book store to decide on which is appropriate for you. Work through one of these over the summer.
In addition to these options, the following math packets have been developed. These math packets are NOT required. A packet is available for students who will be taking each of the following classes next year. Students in accelerated classes should do two packets. Students entering Accelerated Math 2 should do the packets for Grades 10 and 11. Students entering Accelerated Coordinate Algebra and Analytic Geometry should do the packets for Grades 9 and 10. There is no packet for incoming AP Calculus or AP Statistics students.
