Portable Equipment Checkout and Accountability

While the primary purpose of portable equipment is for use on Cobb County School District premises during the instructional/work day, there are times when it is appropriate for employees and students to check out portable equipment to be used for educational purposes beyond the workday and outside of the work environment. However, a written log or record must be maintained at each school and central office department where portable equipment is checked out. When employees or students wish to check out portable equipment, the Portable Equipment Checkout Agreement ( See Exhibits A or B) must be completed and kept on file as part of the equipment checkout record at the school or central office department. When a student checks out portable equipment, the student's parent or guardian must also sign the form. The only exception to adherence of this regulation will be for an approved equipment based program that meets or exceeds the district's expectations for portable equipment accountability .
