Cougar News
Important information for parents regarding student
placement for the 2013-2014 school year
- If you've entered the school in the last 2 weeks, you've noticed
the art project being developed on the columns in front of our
school. Please see this article to learn more about what's
happening in Keheley's art world!
- As you know, Keheley Kids love to read! There are several ways for them to have good books during the long, hot summer:
1) Support Keheley's Summer Reading Book Fair! Reading for pleasure is important for all
of us. Who knows of a better way to spend a hot summer's day?
2) Take advantage of the public library and its summer reading program. This year's program is
called "Dig Into Reading." For information, visit http://cobbcast.cobbk12.org or call
770-509-4964. Let's get some good books into our students' hands! And, please, let the students choose what they read during the summer.
- We value the safety of all Keheley Kids! If you plan on driving
or walking to pick up your child from school on a daily or
weekly basis, please make sure you have an assigned number to display on your dashboard OR you are carrying it (if
you're walking to meet your child). For our children's safety,
staff members have been instructed to release students ONLY to people who have a number. Please sign up for your number in our main office. Identification is
required in order to receive a number.
- Questions
about the Common
Core Curriculum? Click on the link
for information!
- Are you collecting "pop tabs" to help families staying in
Atlanta
area Ronald McDonald Houses? You just need to remove the tabs from soda (and other) cans and save them in a plastic bag to bring to Keheley. By doing this, we are helping
families with very sick children and helping our environment at
the same time!(Don't forget to recycle the rest of
the can!)
- We're fundraising and recycling for a great cause -
childhood
cancer! Please send your used printer cartridges &
toner, cell
phones, digital cameras, PDAs and MP3 Players to the media
center to be recycled. All of these items are accepted in
working or nonworking condition. The environment benefits by
keeping toxins out of our ground water and air, CURE Childhood Cancer
benefits with funding and public awareness, and Keheley benefits from the funds raised. Everybody wins! Thanks for your
support.
