Academics
Lassiter High School is proud to announce that teacher Debbie Poss
was sworn in as President-elect of the Georgia Council of Teachers
of Mathematics on October 16, 2009 at the annual math conference.
Ms. Poss will serve for the next year before beginning her two-year
term as President next October. The Georgia Council of Teachers of
Mathematics has approximately 3000 members statewide at all
educational levels. Ms. Poss is the first classroom teacher to serve
as President in approximately 15 years.

Lassiter has been recently recognized for its AVID program and
Advanced Placement Program. Lassiter's AP program has been
recognized as a 2009 Demonstration School, which is the highest
