Leadership development opportunities are designed to support and enhance the success of Cobb County School District's new principals during the first two to three years of service. Experienced/Retired principals
were trained as mentor-coaches for new principals. These principals
successfully completed coaching essentials training with Stephen Barkley.
Each new principal communicates and meets on a regular basis with a mentor-coach. New principals and mentor-coaches meet throughout the year for professional learning that is facilitated by the Director in Professional Learning. Monthly collaborative sessions and local school-focused walks are scheduled with the new principal throughout the year to enhance knowledge and skills.
