Ms. Kelly Metcalfe

Greetings Mavericks! This is my sixth year as the principal of McClure and I look forward to entering these doors every day. I am a Cobb County graduate and began my teaching career 21 years ago at McEachern High School. While at McEachern I began my path into leadership and served as an Assistant Principal for five years. My leadership journey then took me to McCleskey Middle School where I served as an Assistant Principal for two years. I learned a lot about the middle school child while there and decided this is the age group I want to work with! I was named as Principal of McClure in 2012 and we have been building our legacy ever since. McClure is known for being a school where your child can thrive every day in a safe environment while being held to high standards. As I told students at the beginning of this year, we are building our legacy every day by our actions and words. I look forward to working with you and your student to build a lasting legacy at McClure that we can all be proud of.

Ms. Marikaye Travis
Assistant Principal
6th Grade Administrator

In this my fourth year at McClure, I am looking forward to helping the 6th grade build their legacy one footprint at a time. We have an exciting year ahead of us, and I feel privileged to be a part of the McClure Legacy. My journey in education began 28 years ago as a high school teacher and drama director in PA. Moving to VA in 2000, I served 3 more years in a high school classroom and 3 years as an administrator in professional learning in Chesapeake Public Schools. In 2007, my husband and I moved to GA while our son finished college in VA. Upon our move to GA, I returned to the classroom at Palmer Middle, where I was thrilled to serve as the 8th grade reading teacher. In 2012, I returned to a role in professional learning for Cobb County where I served as a School Instructional Specialist. It was in 2014 when I became a Maverick! My passion for growing students both academically and in focusing on core values keeps me energized because I am able to impact adolescents as they begin writing their story and building something special within them that will outlast 6th grade—something that will serve as the beginning of their legacy footprint. Looking forward to leaving our footprints in 2017-18!

Live, love, learn and leave a legacy
