Enrolling at
Oakwood Digital
There are a few things to keep in mind
and simple steps to follow if you think Oakwood Digital
might be the right academic setting for you. Although
our setting allows us to accommodate only 150 students at a
time, openings often occur throughout the semester, so we
can enroll new students
any time
space becomes available. The school keeps a waiting
list of interested students who are called to fill these
openings as they occur. Students starting at the
beginning of a new semester are graded and awarded credit
based on the work they do at Oakwood. Transfer students
coming in the middle of a semester are enrolled in the
same courses they were in at their previous school when
those courses are offered at Oakwood. Grades are then
calculated by combining transfer grades with the work
completed at Oakwood. The flexibility of Oakwood's
digital format allows the school to meet the special needs
of students who come here from schools with varied types of
schedules (traditional, block, A/B, etc.). There are
also opportunities for students who have not been enrolled
in school previously during a semester to transfer in and
earn academic credit.

What are some other facts
about the application process?
-
Admission will be granted to
students who are closest to meeting graduation requirements
with priority placement going to juniors and seniors.
-
Applications remain on file
for one semester from the date of submission.
-
Students will be notified when
space is available.
-
After initial interview,
a student’s file will be reviewed by the admissions committee
and applicant will be notified of his/her acceptance status.
-
A student
is not guaranteed admission merely because he or she
submits an application or has an interview.
If a prospective student meets the above criteria, there
is a simple, 4-step process to complete in order to be enrolled.
1. Students submit an
Application
for Admission (Click Here).
2. The student's application is placed on
a waiting list based on credits earned.
3. Students are
called as space becomes available and are scheduled for an interview.
4. Following the interview, a
student’s file will be reviewed by the admissions committee and
applicant will be notified of his/her acceptance status.
Please note that students who
are currently receiving special education services at their
home high school must have an IEP committee meeting to
discuss a change in placement prior to the student's
enrollment at Oakwood. If the committee feels that
Oakwood is an appropriate academic setting, the IEP would be
amended to reflect the instructional model that is unique to
Oakwood Digital Academy.
