Allatoona High School and Pickett's Mill Elementary

In August 2008,
two new schools will open in northwest Cobb County. Allatoona High
School and Pickett's Mill Elementary School are the final two of
nine schools constructed under the SPLOST II program. They will help
provide relief for the overcrowded schools in this rapidly growing
area of the county. New attendance zones will be drawn to provide
for the enrollment at the new schools. Information on this page
relates to the redistricting process.
UPDATED 6.28.07! The Cobb County Board of Education approved
redistricting maps for Allatoona High School and Pickett’s Mill
Elementary School during its June 28 meeting, establishing
attendance zones for both schools more than a year ahead of their
scheduled openings in August 2008. The Board voted to approve
Plan A for Allatoona
High and Plan 2
for Pickett’s Mill Elementary. Located in northwest Cobb near the
Paulding County line, the new facilities will provide relief for
overcrowded schools in this rapidly growing area of the county.
