“Your students are so polite and sweet!, “Go, Bassoons!”, “Bravo, Clarinets!”, “Beautiful, trumpet”, “This is the best band I have ever heard come out of Smitha!”, “We really enjoyed hearing your bands!” These are a few of the comments we heard following our bands’ LGPE performances this week.

Words cannot describe how proud we are of the band students who participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association Middle School Concert Band Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE).  Taking 4 bands to LGPE is no small task, but their behavior, professionalism, and musicality were amazing!  They truly served as the best ambassadors for everything that is right about Smitha!  Our goal is to make the next performance better than the last.  We believe we achieved that goal this week and the judges agreed with straight Superior ratings for all 4 bands.  We are very proud of each student and look forward to building on this success by continuing to offer musically rewarding experiences for each of them!  Thank you for sharing your child with us!

With that being said, mark your calendars now for our Spring concerts:
