Office Hours:  The Bandroom is open everyday at 8:30 am for students to practice.  They must use this time for practice.


ALL school instruments are due 

back in the bandroom NOW.


We are proud of the 6th and 7th grade bands for their performance at their Spring Concerts!  Last one is May 13th with the 8th grade bands and our guests, the Osborne High School Wind Symphony.

The last day for band for 6th and 8th grade is Tuesday, May 14.  The last day for band for 7th grade is Wednesday, May 15.

Smitha Olympics begin on Thursday, May 16.



8th Grade Symphonic Band - 1st period

Spring Concert is Monday, May 13 at 7:00 pm.  Students need to be in their seats in the BAND ROOM, ready to go, at 6:30 pm in full BAND uniform.

Playing Tests are posted in CHARMS and DUE NOW. 


8th Grade Concert Band - 2nd period

Spring Concert is Monday, May 13 at 7:00 pm.  Students need to be in their seats on the STAGE, ready to go, at 6:30 pm in full BAND uniform.


7th Grade Symphonic Band - 4th period

We are finishing up the final playing test for the year.  Students will be asked to perform the F, Bb, Eb, Ab major scales and the Chromatic scales MEMORIZED and perform a short sightreading exercise.

We have been practicing and preparing the scales for the last month in class.  Students who have been focused and are practicing should be fully prepared for this final test.

6th Grade Cardinal Band - The “After School” Band

We are SO proud of these students who chose to commit to after school rehearsals to perform at LGPE.  The were well-behaved ambassadors for Smitha who played wonderfully! We received many positive comments!

We’ve decided to have this group play for our 5th grade Visit on Tuesday morning, March 26th.  They need to come to the Bandroom, in full BAND uniform, as soon as they get to school.

Our FIRST performance is our PREMIER CONCERT on Monday, Dec. 17 at 7:00 pm.  Students should be in their seat at Smitha, in full BAND uniform, at 6:30 pm to prepare for the concert.  We are continuing to prepare this music in class.

Students should be spending at least 15 minutes per day building up the embouchure muscles.
