After School Program

The Smyrna Elementary After School Program (ASP) is available to all students in grades K-5. Students must be registered and pre-paid in order to stay for the day. Students are housed in a classroom by grade level and receive a snack. Students have the rest of the afternoon for homework, reading, games and playground (weather permitting).

Enrichment Clubs

Smyrna Elementary is proud to partner with several local organizations to offer the following after school enrichment clubs. Per our policy, students participating in enrichment clubs must be registered with our After School Program. There is a $7 per day prepaid fee. This fee includes the safe and secure check-in and check-out with the ASP office in addition to a snack.

Abrakadoodle

Abrakadoodle believes in hands-on, active discovery and exploration in our art classes for kids.  This encourages a love of art, learning and innovation! Abrakadoodle embraces “process art”, which simply means that kids learn best as they explore art materials and the creative process of taking ideas from within and bringing them into existence.

Playball is a unique program for children that uses sports as the means to develop all aspects of their lives including the emotional, social, cognitive and physical. Playball students learn the foundational skills needed for all major American sports.

Bricks4Kidz

The Bricks4Kidz programs are designed to make learning fun. They offer an unique environment that promotes learning and encourages creativity, while having fun. Through the use of Legos, children will be able to enhance their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Cheerleading: Cheer Your Heart Out, Georgia

During class the students learn an array of things from cheering, chanting, jumping, stunting, motor skills and a full routine that the students perform at annual The Extreme Cheer Exhibition.

Chess2Children

Playing chess has proven to help students enhance their creativity, improve their power of concentration, develop and expand critical thinking skills, boost memory and retention, and achieve superior academic performance. Additionally, chess has been shown to augment problem-solving capabilities, provide cultural enrichment, advance intellectual maturity, and enhance self-esteem… qualities that we all desire for our children.

Dinosaur Discovery: Little Scholars

Take an adventure back to the Jurassic Era where we will learn about dinosaurs who roamed the Earth millions of years ago. Uncover fascinating facts, build a dinosaur replica, and have an archaeological dig as you explore your paleontological skills. In Dinosaur Discovery, you will become a paleontologist faster than Ornithomimids ran from a T-Rex!

Jitterbug

Jitterbug Performing Arts is a unique program that combines music, drama, dance and play. Fun, energetic classes include unlimited creative outlets for children. The Jitterbug program encourages shy children to come out of their shells and leads outgoing children to the next level of self-expression. Some of the curriculum includes singing, dancing, acting, theatre games, vocal projection exercises, improvisations, mini-scripts, and puppetry.

Smyrna Dance

Put on your tennis shoes and dance away the blues.  Have a blast, express yourself and stay fit while moving to age appropriate popular music. Warm up with high action exercises and learn the basics of Hip Hop and Modern dance.

Soccer: OT Athletics

Take your game to the next level! Join us for Shooting Stars Soccer and learn to play Soccer like the pros! Coaches will teach you skills like dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting and defense. This program emphasizes fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Rise Up!

RISE UP! offers a fun, welcoming, high-energy, captivating environment where students can learn about God's unconditional love and can strengthen their character by applying Biblical principles to their lives. RISE UP! openly promotes who God is and shares God's stories, principles and truth from the Bible. We welcome students of all faith backgrounds and respect each student's right to make their own faith decisions.

Vamos Chicos

Our program, Adventures into Spanish, is a unique hands-on approach to learning Spanish in a fun way. It's a fusion of arts and science in a converted bus. The projects include Eco-Arts which involves using recycled materials and items from nature. The classes are open to all levels of Spanish and grades K-5, and are in a small ratio setting for the afterschool program. The program is Hands-on Spanish mixed with project-based learning, and taught by a native Spanish speaker. Space is limited to 12.
