Student Recognition

Here at Vaughan we try to recognize our students on a regular basis.  The following are just a few of the ways we try to accomplish that.

“Sweets with Swinney” is awarded to one student per class on a monthly basis.  The children receiving this award have demonstrated effort and persistence in reaching academic goals.  These students are celebrated with a sweet treat from Dr. Swinney!

Grade-level award ceremonies will be held once per semester to recognize strong academic performance on grade-level standards.

 Terrific Kids is a recognition provided by the local Kiwanis Club.  It is awarded to one child per class each month for being a shining example of the month’s character trait.

 “Reflections” is a program run by the National Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).  It challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme.  Participants and winners are recognized for their abilities in photography, dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, and visual arts

Vaughan Elementary Reflections Winners 2011/2012
