Schedule Process and Schedule Change Timeline for 2016-2017

Schedules are viewable online through StudentVUE or ParentVUE.

The schedule change request window has closed. We are working through the requests that were submitted.  If you requested a schedule change, you will receive an email when your schedule change request has been addressed.  It may take a few days for us to get through all of the requests, so please be patient.  If you made a request that did not meet one of the schedule change criteria, we will email stating that a change will not be made.

We will not be making schedule changes the first week of school unless absolutely required.

No changes will be made in person at Wheeler nor through the counseling department.  All changes had to be requested through the online form.

Thursday, July 28 - Wildcat Daze – No schedules will be distributed nor schedule changes made during Wildcat Daze.

Monday, August 1 – First day of school.  Our goal is that all schedules will be perfect on this day.


Wheeler Welcomes Cady Studios

Wildcat Daze

Wildcat Daze will take place on Thursday, July 28.  This is a great opportunity to sign up for clubs, order a yearbook, purchase a Sports Pass, and much more.

 

5:00-6:00 - Rising 9th Graders

6:00-8:00 - Rising 10th, 11th, 12th Graders

 

Please note that no schedules will be distributed this year at Wildcat Daze, and no schedule changes will be made.  All schedules will be available online the week before Wildcat Daze.


Junior and Senior Class Dues

Dues for the Junior and Senior Classes for the 2016-2017 school year are as follows:

 

Wildcat Daze – Sept 2: $30 (includes shirt)

 

Sept. 6 – December 21: $35 (includes shirt while supplies last)

 

Jan. 5 – March 1: $40 (includes shirts while supplies last)

 

Deadline will be March 1!!! Juniors and Seniors must pay dues by March 1 to receive a lower prom ticket price!

ROTC Receives "Silver Star" Community Service with Excellence Award

The Cadets of the Wheeler Air Force JROTC are proud to announce they have Earned the Headquarters AFJROTC "Silver Star" Community Service with Excellence Award for AY 2015-2016. This prestigious award recognizes the Top 5% of 892 units in 49 States, 7 foreign countries, and 2 Protectorates based on service in support of schools and local communities.

AFJROTC HQ recognized the top 47 units worldwide which came from 25 States and 3 foreign countries (Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom). These units/schools had the highest per cadet average of community service hours.  What is also unique about the selection of Wheeler's AFJROTC program is that of the 64 AFJROTC programs/schools in the State of Georgia, Wheeler High AFJROTC was the ONLY Georgia program selected for this award.

Paris Moorman named Gates Millenium Scholar

AP Exam and Score Info

In July, AP scores will be available online. To get AP scores, students must sign up for a College Board account at apscore.org. Even if you already have an account, you will need to register this year’s AP number from the card torn out at the AP pre-administration.  For more information and to access additional resources, including pre-written tweets and Facebook posts, visit collegeboard.org/shareap.


Summer Counseling Hours

For the months of June and July, the counseling office will be open as follows:
-Tuesdays and Thursdays
-8:00 am - 12:00 pm
-Closed Week of July 4th
-Open Summer Enrollment (No need for appointments)

Counseling Office will reopen on July 18th with all counselors returning on the 20th.


Award Winners for Aspirations in Computing

Congratulations to Victoria Kraj for being named a Georgia Affiliate Award Winner for "Aspirations in Computing" from the National Center For Women & Information Technology (NCWIT).  Congratulations also to Laura Zhang, who was a Georgia Affiliate Runner Up.

Wheeler senior, Sara Shoushtarian, has been awarded the Student Scholar winner of the Georgia Science Teacher Association.  Sara will attend Emory this summer to learn more about cancer research.

PSAT, SAT, and AP Prep through Khan Academy

Free prep for the NEW SAT and PSAT is now available. The College Board and Khan Academy have partnered to offer Free AP, SAT, and PSAT prep. This prep includes practice tests for the New PSAT and SAT.

The new PSAT will be administered in October. The new SAT will begin Sprin 2016.
