The 2014 GED® test is made up of four (4) sections and is offered in both English and Spanish:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts
  • Mathematical Reasoning
  • Science
  • Social Studies

The cost for testing is $40 per test section (there is a discounted rate for retesting).  You must receive a score of 145 or higher for each of the four (4) sections of the test in order to receive your GED® credential.

Two ways to register if you are 18 or older and would like to take the test in Cobb

  • REGISTER ON-LINE or call 1-877-EXAM-GED (392-6433).  Here you will create an account, complete registration, schedule and pay for testing. 


  • WALK-IN SAME DAY TESTING available. *Remember you must create your account at and complete the registration process first.  If we have an unreserved seat we will fit you in.  You must bring your VALID (non-expired) government issued photo ID and a VALID debit/credit card for payment of fees.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH, CHECKS, or MONEY ORDERS.

We provide GED® Testing on scheduled Tuesdays (8AM until 1PM) and Thursdays (8AM until 1PM) at the Cobb County Adult Education Center (Room 115), 1595 Hawthorne Avenue SE, Smyrna GA  30080

We also  provide GED® Testing on scheduled Mondays (9AM until 2PM) and Wednesdays (11AM until 3PM) at the Dianne Wright Innovation Center (Room 709), 140 Bethel Church Road, Hiram GA  30141.

If you are 16 or 17 you MUST complete the requirements set by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) in order to be eligible to take the tests.  Please visit for complete information.

The Cobb County School District Official GED® Testing Center cannot give out official GED® test scores.  Official diplomas and transcripts are mailed directly to the examinee from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Office of Adult Education, GED® Testing Program four (4) weeks after you have successfully completed all four parts of the test.  For additiional copies of these documents please contact TCSG at (404) 679-1645 or (You may print a Transcript Request form directly from the TCSG website).


NOTE-When the Cobb County School District is closed due to inclement weather, testing scheduled for that date is also cancelled.  Tune to the local radio/television stations or call (678) 594-8011, ext. 247 for additional information concerning closings and cancellations.
