Students Outperform State in All Grades on Georgia Milestones
Cobb students performed better than the state on all eight of the End-of-Course assessments in high school and on 24 of 24 End-of Grade
assessments in middle and elementary school. On average Cobb’s scale score was 15 points higher than the state for the EOC assessments.
Graduation Rate Highest in Five Years
The four-year graduation rate for the Cobb County School District Class of 2015 was 81.4 percent according to data released by
Georgia Department of Education. The Cobb County School District outperformed the state average of 78.8 percent by 2.6 percent.
Cobb Tank Competition Nets Big Catch For Twelve Cobb Schools
Teachers from across the county recently competed for and won a total of $83,400 to implement innovation in their classrooms
through a program called Cobb Tank.

Kennesaw Mountain High Special Olympian Brings Home The Gold
Shannon Laffey, a Transition Academy student at Kennesaw Mountain High School, recently competed in the Down Syndrome World Gymnastics Championships in Motara, Italy, winning the gold medal in the balance beam and silver medals in the uneven bars, floor, and all-around. The games were held on November 13-15, 2015.
