Osborne's Unsung Heroes

When Communities In Schools of Marietta and Cobb County (CIS) started serving Osborne High School four years ago, the first priority was to increase parent trust and involvement. An equally high priority was to make sure students had access to basic needs, such as having enough food to eat.

To address both of these challenges, CIS partnered with Osborne and MUST Ministries' Save It Forward Program to open the Osborne Food Pantry. The whole community has come together to ensure the success of the pantry, with more than 500 students collecting hundreds of food items for the families of Osborne. Read more

In celebration of the birth of America's most revered wordsmith, Theodor Geisel (a.k.a. "Dr. Seuss"), and in an effort to develop a love for reading in students, members of the Cobb School Board were out in classrooms sharing their favorite Seuss books during Read Across America Week.
