Cobb High Schools Make List of Most Challenging
All 16 Cobb County high schools made The Washington Post list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools. The list was based on the total number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Cambridge tests given at a school each year divided by the number of seniors who graduated in May or June.
Only 10 percent of the approximately 22,000 U.S. public high schools made the list.
District Honors 2016 Retirees During Annual Luncheon
Cobb County School District celebrated its retiring employees May 10 during the annual Retirement Luncheon. More than 200 retirees with 4,624 years of collective experience were honored.
Hispanic-Serving School District Administrator of the Year
Dr. Greg Ewing, CCSD Chief Accountability & Research Officer, has been named the Hispanic-Serving
School District Administrator of the Year by the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS). The
honor was announced during the organization's second annual Leaders in Education Awards Gala on April 25 in Washington, D.C.
