Congratulations to Henry W. Taylor, Alonzo Ford and Alecia McLochlin on being elected to the Campbell High School Council. Thanks to all who cast votes in support of these dedicated CHS parent volunteers!!

What is the School Council?

The state of Georgia requires all public schools to have a functioning Council.  The Council is a parent led advisory group that partners with the CHS administration to discuss issues that influence student success and the entire CHS community. The Council meets monthly (in person or conference call) for up to 90 minutes.  Council members include 3-5 parent rep per grade, the CHS Principal, two CHS teachers, local business leaders, at large rep and the student government president.

The Council focuses on working with CHS leadership and teachers to:     Solve difficult education problems; Improve student academic achievement;  Enhance school based decision making process

Mission

The Campbell High School Council (CHSSC) is a parent led group which works in collaboration with CHS administrators and teachers to provide a mechanism for parents and the local Smyrna business community to support CHS in achieving its mission of being an outstanding academic institution where all students can and do succeed.  The Council thus focuses on working with CHS leadership and teachers to:

- Solve difficult education problems
- Improve academic achievement
- Enhance the school-based decision-making process
- Support CHS administrators and teachers in their efforts to educate and nurture our youth.

Primary Activites of the School Council

The CHSSC is an advisory board providing CHS administrators and teachers with advice and counsel.  It implements its advisory role by:

- Supporting CHS Administrators in reaching student success targets
- Helping CHS achieve annual priorities via increased coordination & collaboration.
        - within CHS - Campbell High School Education Foundation (CHSEF) & the Campbell High School Parent Teacher Student Association (CHSPTSA and
        - externally - feeder school councils, Cobb Board of Education, and Smyrna community 
- Encourage outreach to the Smyrna business community to foster greater links to the community and to secures financial assistance for important unfunded initiatives
- Supporting the CHS PTSA efforts to expand parent participation in CHS educational and extracurricular activites
- Assisting with efforts to enhance visibility and awareness of the myriad accomplishments and achievements of CHS students, teachers, and administrators.
- Advocating in support of policies and funding that benefits CHS students, teachers and administrators.

The School Council meets monthly in the Front Office Conference Room and all meetings are open to the entire school community and the public. Meetings are 4-5 pm on the dates below.
