An annual Parapro Institute is sponsored by the Professional Learning Department and Special Student Services. This event occurs just prior to the start of school. The purpose is to provide support, training, and a point-of-contact for paraprofessionals. It also engages paraprofessions in professional learning communities that support student achievement. Registration is not required. Attendance sheets will be available for signing.
The 2009 Parapro Institute is scheduled for August 4th (Elementary) and August 5th (Middle and High), 8:30am-11:30am, at Mt. Paran-North.

Education Commission of the States has compiled a large amount
of research from each of the 50 states regarding
paraprofessional certification and qualification requirements,
professional development for paraprofessionals and assessment
tests and passing scores for those tests, which are accepted and
designated by states.
