RATIONALE/OBJECTIVE:

No improvements or modifications to the Cobb County School District's wide area network, and each facilities' local area network, collectively known as the Cobb Educational Network (Cobb EduNet™), shall be commenced until the plans, specifications, and costs of the proposed improvement/modification are reviewed and approved in writing by the appropriate designee of the Technology Services Division. Modifications and improvements to the Cobb EduNet™ governed by this Policy include, but are not limited to, modifications to network cabling, modifications to network-connected equipment, and modifications to network software. Any and all such modifications/improvements shall conform to standards and specifications adopted by the Technology Services Division.

RULE:

Any local school, organization, or individual desiring to make additions or modifications to the school district's network including (but not limited to) network cabling, network-connected equipment and network software will comply with the procedures contained in the Technology Division's document titled Improvements/Modifications to the Cobb EduNetTM. This document can be accessed through the district's internal web site or by contacting the Technology Services Customer Support Center (Help Desk) at 770-426-3330.
