Scheduling for Instruction - High School Minimum Class Enrollment Requirements IED 9/1/04


RATIONALE/OBJECTIVE:

To be developed.

RULE:

All students in Cobb County high schools shall be enrolled in classes for which they will earn a minimum number of credit each semester except as follows:

Exceptions to these regulations are:

A. Fifth year seniors.

B. Students participating in State Postsecondary Options  for joint enrollment programs.

C. Students approved for less than the minimums stated above by the Curriculum Director of High School because of documented medical and/or psychological situations, emergency family circumstances or other documented hardships.

D. Personal situations which warrant a student's attendance at alternative educational settings in the district.

E. Students approved for a modified school day in accordance with Rule IDCJ.

F. Students approved for less than two and one-half units in accordance with an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
