With respect to interactions with current or
potential students, the Cobb County Board of Education (Board) expects that
the Superintendent will establish a climate wherein students are treated in
a dignified, considerate, fair and respectful manner and that they are kept
in a safe environment conducive to learning.
Accordingly, without limiting the above, the
Superintendent shall:
1. Establish with students a clear understanding of what is expected and
what is not
expected.
2. Inform students and their families of issues that would negatively impact
achievement and of the appropriate steps to resolve these and
other types of
problems. In doing so, the Superintendent shall ensure that a
system is in place to:
a. Notify parents/guardians of a pattern of student absences,
tardiness, failure to
produce work or cutting of classes.
3. Maintain facilities that are clean, litter free, with well-tended
grounds.
a. Maintain sanitary and private conditions where appropriate
in schools.
4. Maintain equipment, furnishings and technology are in working order.
5. Provide and maintain facility signage that is clear and visible as to the
location of
administrative offices and visitor parking.
6. Maintain District buses and other District vehicles in a clean and in a
safe working
order.
7. Elicit information for which there is a clear necessity.
8. Use methods of collecting, reviewing, transmitting, or storing student
information that
protects against improper access to the material elicited.
