Important Instructions!
1. Open the forms using the CHROME BROWSER (currently does not work in the new Microsoft Edge).
2. Save the BLANK form to your computer.
3. Complete the form and save again.
4. Attach the completed form and email to IWC@cobbk12.org.

Parent/Teacher Conference Week 2017
Procedure for Requesting an Interpreter

IMPORTANT: The Language Facilitators will not be available to assist with ANY specialized meeting such as IEPs, RTIs, etc. Please do not submit request for these types of meetings during Conference week.

NOTE: Please submit your request as early as possible. Cutoff date is Friday, September 22nd,2017

 

I. PRIOR TO CONFERENCE WEEK

  1. Assign one school official as Point of Contact to be the liaison between the school and the International Welcome Center
  2. Teachers will submit individual requests to the Point of Contact
  3. Point of Contact should consolidate and organize requests (see sample schedule) and submit the Language Service Request Form(s) to the IWC

NOTE: Parent-Teacher Conferences can also be scheduled the week before and after conference week.

 

II. SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS

  1. Requests should be submitted by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2017 to better accommodate your needs.
  2. Requests will be processed on a first come, first served basis
  3. Reminders:
  1. One Language Service Request should be submitted per language, per date/day with specific time blocks
  2. Due to overwhelming requests, only ONE interpreter per language can be assigned to a school
  3. Verify that the family requires an interpreter prior to scheduling a meeting.
  4. If possible, please schedule all conferences to take place in a central location for the interpreter (i.e. media center, conference room, etc.)
  5. Confirmation e-mails will be sent as soon as an interpreter has been confirmed.

 

III. DURING CONFERENCE WEEK

  1. Point of Contact will provide a schedule to the interpreter (See attached form)
  2. If appointments are in different classrooms, a school map should be provided to the interpreter
