Sue Donahoo, Local School Financial Specialist has announced her retirement.  Her last day with the District will be Friday, October 6, 2017.

Sue started her career with the District as a school Bookkeeper in 1989 and has been an integral part of the Local School Accounting Department since 1997.   Her hard work and dedication to the Department and to all of you will always be remembered.  We will miss Sue for many reasons, but especially her quick wit, her ability to recall details and procedures from years ago, and most of all, her kind heart.

I know you will want to wish Sue well as she starts this new chapter in her life!

Each July during school pre-planning, Financial Services conducts a one week, intensive training for new hire School Bookkeepers.  On Friday, July 21, 2017 we celebrated the graduation of 7 new bookkeepers from this year’s class.  Brad Johnson, CFO presented each graduate with a certificate and shared words of encouragement as each bookkeeper embarked on their new career as a Cobb County School District Bookkeeper.  We would like to welcome our new graduates and look forward to working with them!

Diana Cothran was selected as the District’s Central Office Classified Employee of the Year for 2017-18.  What an awesome accomplishment!  Diana  receives, prepares, and records all revenues as part of her Cash Specialist duties.  She is the first person that greets all visitors to our department.  Diana’s job performance is exceptional and she always exceeds expectations by assisting all staff with a friendly and cooperative attitude.   Diana was nominated this past school year due to her work in assisting other Financial Services staff in ensuring that the records in our storage area were properly stored or destroyed.  In addition, Diana was also recognized as the impetus for the 440 Track Club.
