During
the month of January, Cobb school cafeterias promoted
3-Every-Day of Dairy.
The following excerpts highlight just a few of the
events happening across the county.
Hollydale Wins State “Rise Up, Fuel Up” Milk
Competition
Hollydale Elementary School increased milk sales
during the recent “Rise Up, Fuel Up” Milk Competition.
Hollydale’s efforts to increase milk consumption
crushed the state competition.
As a reward, students will enjoy a Falcons pep rally
complete with a Falcons’ player, Harry Douglas.

March.
Cobb
schools took four of the top six spots from the state
competition.
These schools included: Hollydale Elementary School,
Pebblebrook High School, South Cobb High School and
Simpson Middle School.
They each received $1,000 to support nutrition
education efforts.
Southeast Dairy Association Awards Grants to Schools
The Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA)
recently awarded 6 grants to Cobb County Schools.
The grants support the national initiative, Fuel Up
To Play 60, efforts to be active for 60 minutes a day and
eat nutrient rich foods.
Fuel Up to Play 60 was launched by the National Dairy
Council and the National Football League, in collaboration
with the United States Department of Agriculture.
Schools awarded grants, ranging from $2,000 to $3,780,
include:
Fair Oaks Elementary School, Ford
Elementary School, Mountain View Elementary
School, Awtrey Middle School,
McCleskey Middle School, and
Pebblebrook High School |
