Strand: Competency in Motor Skills and Movement Patterns
Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
The learner will design and teach an aerobic routine with correct mechanics and with music that has appropriate tempo (121-137bpm).
The learner will demonstrate and apply correct body mechanics during aerobic walking.
The learner will maintain a target heart rate during all aerobic activities within the classroom setting.
The learner will use proper warm up and cool down techniques.
Strand: Concepts, Principals, Strategies, and Tactics
Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.
The learner will modify the concepts of overload, progression, and specificity during aerobic exercise.
The learner will apply the FIT Principle (frequency, intensity, and time) during aerobic exercise.
The learner will contrast how environmental factors (temperature and humidity) affect safety while performing aerobic exercises.
Strand: Regular Participation in Physical Activity
Participates regularly in physical activity.
The learner will accumulate the recommended minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity outside of physical education class(60min daily).
The learner will use all skills associated with various sports while dressing appropriately and actively engaging in all practice and game settings.
The learner will participate regularly in physical activities including warm-up, cool-down, skill development drills, and in game settings.
The learner will research and report on the availability and contact information for community leagues or sports in the area.
Strand: Health Enhancing Levels of Physical Fitness
Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
The learner will read and interpret Healthy Fitness Zone Scores for appropriate age and gender.
The learner will set realistic goals depending on their cardio respiratory fitness level.
The learner will monitor their target heart rate during exercise.
The learner will list activities which are specific to developing cardo respiratory fitness.
The learner will explain the benefits of maintaining good health and well-being through aerobic exercise. (NASPE4)
The learner will design a diet that will maximize the benefits of aerobic exercise.
Strand: Personal and Social Responsibility
Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.
The learner will explain modifications in exercise necessary for older adults to safely participate in exercise.
The learner will identify proper attire needed for exercising in a variety of wether conditions.
The learner will display appropriate etiquette and acceptable ways of interacting in aerobic exercise settings.
The learner will show respect for the diversity, strength, and weaknesses of other learners.
The learner will apply safe and appropriate care of equipment used for exercising.

Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.
The learner will explain benefits of regular exercise for physical and mental health.
