School Social Work Truancy Prevention and Intervention Committee

The Committee consists of school social workers from all six areas of the school district and meets regularly to discuss program development, implementation, evaluation and review of new programs. The Committee reports it findings to the school social workers. Committee members for the 2006-2007 school year:

  • State law requires that the Chief Judge of the Superior Court in each county establish a student attendance protocol committee
  • The committee is responsible for ensuring coordination and cooperation among officials, agencies, and programs involved in compulsory attendance issues , to reduce the number of unexcused absences from school, and to increase the percentage of students present to take tests which are required to be administered under the laws of this state.
