  • Kell High School has a fifty-six (56) point gain on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and that gain on the SAT was the highest in the county.
  • All three high schools in Area 4 increased SAT scores: Kell (56 points-highest in the county), Lassiter (22 points), Sprayberry (14 points)
  • Mabry Middle School-named School of Distinction by Scholastic and Intel ($10,000.00 cash award and $250,000.00 in technology)
  • Schools recognized by the Governor’s office for student achievement:

  • 115 Lassiter High School students earned designation of AP Scholar by the College Board
  • Lassiter High School’s NJROTC earned Navy’s “Distinguished Unit with Honors”, 4th year in a row
  • Lassiter High School’s Boys Tennis Team-State Champions
  • Lassiter High School’s Varsity Gymnastics Team placed 2nd is the State
  • Lassiter High School’s Marching Band performed in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Tournament of Roses Parade
  • Daniell Middle School, Bells Ferry Elementary School, and Sprayberry High School all received the “Reach for the Stars” mentoring grant
  • Daniell Middle School received the KC3 Award from the Kamaron Institute  for positive, caring citizenship and character education
  • Daniell Middle School placed 5th in the state with their “Hoops for Heart” drive
  • Daniell, Sprayberry, Bells Ferry-All received a Federal Mentoring Grant which will provide mentoring for students.  The focus of the mentoring will be academic.  The Renaissance Learning Program supports both reading and math.
  • Keheley Elementary School received the PACE Award for Academic Achievement and received $5,000.00
  • Keheley Elementary School’s Media specialist and ESOL tutor wrote and were awarded an Education IMACT Grant of $1,000.00
  • Keheley Elementary School’s physical education department and community raised over $12,000.00 for Jump Rope for Heart
  • Bells Ferry-“High Priority” school with 95% of students meeting or exceeding standards on the reading portion of the CRCT and 94% meeting or exceeding standards on the math portion.
  • Bells Ferry had six classrooms attain “Accelerated Reader Model Classroom” status
  • Bells Ferry’s media specialist is an Accelerated Reader “Model Librarian”
  • Ms. Angela Bailey, Principal of Mountain View Elementary and Dr. Mike Johnson, Principal of Kell High School were both named “Georgia PTA Outstanding Principal” for the 2004-2005 school year
  • Mountain View Elementary School received the Gold Award from the state for 97% of their students meeting or exceeding standards on the CRCT
  • Kincaid Elementary School was named a PTA School of Excellence for Parent Involvement
  • Davis Elementary- Ms. Ann Welsh-Cobb County School Professional of the Year
  • Chalker Elementary School-80% of faculty/staff trained to be Positive Discipline Trainers
  • Chalker Elementary School-GAHPERD (Georgia Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) named Chalker as the Number One PE program in the State of Georgia
  • Chalker Elementary-100% PTA membership for the first time
  • Chalker Student Council raised over $3,000.00 for the purchase of stage curtains
  • Rocky Mount Elementary School-100% of third graders passed the CRCT reading the first time.  97% of first through fifth graders passed the reading and fifth grade math CRCT
  • Rocky Mount Elementary School Received the GOLD award for performance excellence from the Georgia State Department of Education
  • Five Rocky Mount students were selected for the Cartoon Network Program to be on a Friday Show
  • 100% of the Rocky Mount 5th graders were on or above level on the State Writing Assessment
  • Sprayberry High School received the 2005 Governor’s Highway Safety Grant
  • Sprayberry High School-2005 State Essay Winner for The Laws of Life Essay Contest
  • Sprayberry student only student in Georgia published in on-line magazine In Focus
  • Sprayberry-DECA Student of the Year Award for North Metro Technical School
  • Sprayberry-Seven orchestra students in Cobb County Honor Orchestra
