Summer Learning

Daniell Middle School students are expected to read regularly over the summer. Rising 6, 7, and 8 graders will participate in Scholastic’s Summer Reading Challenge. An informational letter with a unique log-in has been given to all Cobb County students. Click here to log in or for more information. If your child forgets his/her summer reading username, please contact 1-800-SCHOLASTIC. Suggested reading lists and additional information can be found here.

The Georgia Department of Education also has reading lists and resources, including access to over 8,000 FREE e-books! Click here for more information. In the event that a student does not wish to participate in this challenge, click here for an alternate summer reading assignment.

USATestprep

Every Daniell Middle School student can benefit from using USA Test Prep this summer. Whether you want your child to not forget the standards they have learned this past school year or you want to see them master the standards even more, this home-based digital learning expereince is simple to use and your child already has a member login account. USA Test Prep supports language arts, reading, mathematics, science, and social studies by breaking down questions into the same domains as tested on the Georgia Mielstones through vocabulary, tests, practice, games, and videos. Encourage your child to get started and log as many hours as he or she can, even if just playing the games. And if you are up for the challenge, it makes for great family trivia too! You will be amazed at the academically challenging work your student is expected to know.

If you are new to Daniell, email Principal Nelson today to receive your USA Testprep login information for your child.
