What Is PTA?
The PTA is a nationwide organization that brings parents and teachers
together to work towards improving the lives and education of students. It
is the largest child advocacy volunteer organization in the nation.
Of course the most obvious benefit to being a member of the PTA is the
fact that you are making a statement that you are committed to supporting
Davis in its effort to provide the best education possible for your child.
However, there are other benefits beginning at the local level, as you will
see when you receive your membership packet, and extending to both the state

The basic goals of the Davis PTA are:

Advocacy for the welfare,
well-being, & education of all Davis
students.

Encourage parent involvement in the
classroom as well as lead &
coordinate the volunteer effort for
both PTA & school sponsored events.
- Keep
the lines of communication open
between the parents & the school.
- Keep
parents apprised of legislation that
may affect the education of our
students.
- Fund
programs & teacher needs that we
believe to be instrumental in
providing our children with a strong
foundation & a well-rounded
education.
- Recognize & celebrate our
phenomenal staff of teachers,
specialists, & counselors.
