AwardsThe
procedure for lettering and other awards for each activity should be submitted
for administrative approval before the beginning of each school year. The music
teacher may want to leave apportion of this procedure to his/her own discretion.
After approval, the procedures should be made clear to all participants prior to
the first activity. These procedures should be printed in any handbooks or
guides for the local school music programs.
The decision as to which groups will receive letters will be made by the music
director with approval by administration.
Letters and awards may not be purchased from county funds.
If awards are given, they should not be considered the focus or primary
culmination of performance in the organization.
