Steps to Complete the Classified Application for First Time Users(These instructions are not for Certified or Substitute Teaching Applications)

READ EACH STEP CAREFULLY

       

**If at any time during the application process you receive a pop up box that states you are about to view pages over a secure connection, click YES.

1)   From the Cobb County School District Homepage, click on “Employment” at the top of the page

2)   Read the information on the Cobb County School District Employment page

3)   Click on “CLASSIFIED” from the categories

4)   Read “Classified Application Online Help” page

5)   Click on “Click here to begin the Online Application!”

6)   The “STAR”, blue screen will appear

7)   Choose the “Click here to register and apply”

8)   From the Applicant Information Screen, complete every field with a RED arrow.  Enter your email address, if you have one, on this screen where indicated. Please make sure you enter a HINT especially if you do not have email so that you can retrieve your User ID and/or Password should you ever lose it.

 9)   Please write down your User ID and Password you created. Keep this in safe place, so that you have your User ID and Password at all times.  

10)   Go to the bottom of the page and click “submit”

11)   The next screen is “Log-in”

12)   Enter your USER ID and PASSWORD that you just created; click “log-in”

13)   The next screen is to select the “type of position you are applying for”; choose the Classified Application and click “start application”

14)   The application process will begin.  Read “instructions” carefully and click “continue”

15)   The next screen is Contact Information; review this information and click “continue”

16)   The next screen is Contact Information-Present Address;  Before typing, click on each field/white box to enter information; Enter every field with a RED arrow-these are required fields. Then click Continue.

17)   The next screen is Contact Information, Other.  This is a screen providing information as alternative information if we cannot reach the above from #16.  It is not required, but preferred that you complete it. Then click Continue.

18)   Employment Preferences.  Please read this screen carefully. Choose the “add position” button at the bottom of the page, you will go to another screen.

19)   This page is where you will select jobs by posting number.  To select a job, click on the drop down arrow.  Current jobs are listed by posting number. Click and select the job you are applying for. You can only select one job at a time. Click “continue” action at the bottom of the page to go to the next screen.

20)   This page will reflect the position that you have added under the “Classified positions you are adding”.

21)   To add additional positions, click “add position” button and follow instructions above #18-20 or if you are finished, click “continue” button.

22)   On the Skill/Licenses page, complete at least the areas w/ red arrows and click “continue” button.

23)   The next page is “Professional Information”, complete the areas w/ red arrows. If you answer YES to any of the “Have You Ever” questions, you must provide a detailed answer. Then click Continue.

24)   Personal Information. If you answer “yes” to question #2, you must click on “add entry” button.  The next screen will be the Criminal History Affidavit and you must complete all areas with a red arrow and select the “continue” button.  If you answer “no” to question #2, you click the “continue” button at the bottom of the page.

25)   Next, is your Educational information.  Complete ALL red arrow fields. If you have attended college click the “add entry” button.  Complete ALL red arrow fields/white boxes. Read all information carefully for foreign colleges and those not listed on drop down.  After you have entered your college information, click “continue” to move to the next screen.

26)   The next page is Certification/Paraprofessional.  If you are applying for a Paraprofessional position, complete this page.  If you are NOT applying for a Paraprofessional position, click “continue” button at bottom of page.

27)   The next page is Work Experience.  List work experience chronologically, beginning with the most recent employer and list ALL part-time and full-time work experience.  To add experience/employer, click “add entry” button.  Complete ALL areas, red arrows are required, and provide details of duties/responsibilities. When finished click Continue. Click “add entry” button again and follow the above directions until all previous employers are entered.  Click “continue” button at bottom of page when finished.

28)   The next page is professional references. Read the instructions carefully.  Click “add entry” button.  Complete ALL sections with red arrows and then click “continue” (a minimum of 3 references are required).  If you prefer, you can list the same contact names and numbers provided in your work experience section.  When 3 references have been entered, click “continue”.

29)   Applicant data survey is the next page.  Providing this information is voluntary.  Please complete all fields and click “continue”.  If you choose not to complete this section, press “continue”.

30)   Additional Information Screen. Complete and add information as necessary and click Continue.

31)   Applicant Authorization Statement is the next screen.  Please read carefully and follow instructions on screen and then click “continue”.

2)   The next screen is Save Application.  Click “review application”. DO NOT CLICK ON EXIT APPLICATION.

33)    Review Forms screen. If you would like to review/print your application, click on the appropriate link (Classified Application or Data Survey or Applicant Testimony). DO NOT CLICK ON EXIT APPLICATION.  After reviewing, click gray “Back to Review List” button on left.  Next, click “submit application” button and finally click “submit application” button again. You will now see a screen which states the computer is “submitting the application…please wait”. 

34)   Lastly, you will see a message which states “your application has been successfully submitted”.  This means that Human Resources has received your application and you have successfully applied. If you do not see this message – your application has not been properly submitted and Human Resources cannot access your application.
