The New Teacher Institute was developed to provide support to all beginning teachers and any teacher new to the Cobb County School District.  The Institute is held for four consecutive days in the summer. The purpose of the Institute is to provide a focus on the effective teaching standards in planning and preparation, the classroom environment, instruction and professional responsibilities.  You will receive valuable resources and support to make your teaching experience successful for you and your students.  Participants will receive 3 Professional Learning Units of credit for this course.

You must register for this course so that we can plan for instructors, materials and supplies.  Registration is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.  Dress for the Institute is business casual.

We will be accepting registration beginning March 10th.

Please select the “New Teacher Institute” link and complete the form. You will be registering for a specific site.  If you are an elementary teacher, you will be transitioning to an elementary site after the opening session on July 22nd.  If you are a specialist teacher, (Special Education, Art, Music, PE, ESOL, etc.), please choose a specific grade level for registration.
