Quarterly Trainings 2007 - 2008

Essential Question:  How do I deepen my understanding, planning and implementation of differentiation within a performance based classrooms?

Registration: Selected representatives will register through the Professional Learning Courses on INFORM beginning August 27. Registration must be completed BEFORE Sept. 10.  Reminder emails and additional training information will be sent to representatives and also posted in Briefings. Reps will earn 2 PLUs for attending all three sessions.  If a conflict arises with dates please contact Sandra Millsaps, Language Arts.

 Redelivery: Each grade level representative (1) is expected to redeliver information to staff and/or grade level teams.  Suggestions and options for redelivery will be part of the training.

 Sub Code: Funds are provided for one representatives per grade level ______________0xxx (school number). In addition to the one grade level representatives, you may send one other (EIP, ESOL, Sp Ed, etc.) designee to a primary session and one other designee to an intermediate session. Other designees must choose a grade level and must also register on INFORM.   Local school funds can pay for additional attendees but names and grade levels must be submitted and approved through Curriculum & Instruction. 

 Critical Attributes for Selecting Representatives for Performance Based Quarterly Training

Learner:  The representative has a passion for learning the most successful teaching strategies.
Model:  There is evidence of performance based instruction in the representative’s classroom.
Respected:   The members of the primary or intermediate team respect the representative.
Communicator:  The representative is a good communicator of information.
Trustworthy:  The school and team can trust the representative to redeliver the information to the school/teams.
Resourceful:  The representative is resourceful in redelivering information in many ways.
Committed:  The representative will attend all trainings.

*It is recommended that a new teacher not be a representative. Teams may want to consider the 06-07 representatives to build upon prior knowledge from last year’s training.
