Hours of Operation:
The Media center is open Monday through Friday from 8:50-4:15 P.M. Students may visit the media center at any time during these hours with a signed agenda or pass from their teacher.

Borrowing Procedure:

Students may check out up to two fiction/non-fiction books at a time for up to three weeks. Books may be renewed for another three weeks as long as the book is not overdue. Reference books are checked out for overnight use and must be returned during homeroom the next morning.

Overdue Procedures:

Students are notified about overdue books through notices that are sent to their homeroom teacher.  Any students with overdue books must return the book or pay for the lost book using exact cash or a check made payable to Durham Middle School.

Resources
:
The media center has a collection of over 21,000 books to support students and teachers.  We also carry magazines and newspapers for students to use in the media center.  Teachers may collaborate with the media specialist and bring students in to research on one of our thirty networked computers.

Online
Resources:
Cobb County School District provides a number of online resources to Cobb students and staff.  These resources may be used at school and at home.  A login and password will be required when using the resources at home. The password page is accessible ONLY from a Cobb County school or district facility within the Cobb network.
